A Guide to Culinary Inspired Jewels

Cassandra's culinary inspired jewels are some of her most iconic designs. As Cassandra travels around the world with each of her country inspired collections, her creative imagination is always intrigued by a country's individual cuisine. Take a journey through Cassandra's design process and explore her delectable jewels and their inspiration stories.

Cavolfiore

Cassandra's Cavolfiore design was inspired by her visits to Sicilian markets which were full of the most beautifully ripe fruit and vegetables that overflow copiously from their baskets. White blossoming 'cavolfiore' or cauliflowers sat like brides of the garden amongst the oranges and lemons. As Cassandra sketched later that afternoon in a sunny courtyard, the white florets became a cluster of white pearls on golden stems set with diamonds, where sparkling dew might have fallen earlier that morning.

Pâtisserie

Bringing together a taste of France and inspirations for her collection, Cassandra realised there was one ingredient that could not go amiss: Pâtisserie. This series of fun and quirky jewels combine molten precious metals and the sweet shapes of Parisian pastries, extracting their essence into bold, playful and abstract jewellery creations. Cassandra abstracted the iconic silhouettes of the croissant, canelé, éclair, and pain au chocolat to form the links of the design.

Tagliatelle

Cassandra's Tagliatelle design is inspired by the freshly made nests of tagliatelle she observed on her travels around Italy. Cassandra has always found the freshly made nests of whirling ribbons of pasta simply irresistible. So, she made them golden in the workshop and laid out rows of thin ribbons of gold, some twirled and others twisted on the bench, and wove them into a nest. Unlike fresh pasta, Cassandra's Tagliatelle design lasts forever.

Cassandra is continually inspired by food and culinary aspects from her travels around the world. Explore below Cassandra's curated guide to her culinary inspired designs.
