How to Choose the Perfect Pendant Chain

Can I wear any necklace pendant on any chain?

We do not recommend that our clients wear medium or large pendants on our more delicate chains to prevent damage or breakage to the chain. Our Finetrace, Catena Fine, Minaret and Isla chains should only be worn with small, light pendants such as our Suffolk Cross or Alice Alphabet Initial Pendant.

For our larger necklace pendants such as the Roi Soleil large necklace pendants, Cassandra loves to pair her pendant with a Beaumarchais Figaro chain by attaching the pendant into the clasp mechanism.

Some of our larger necklace pendants require a more substantial chain due to their weight. We recommend wearing weighty necklace pendants

Looking After Your Chain

All Cassandra Goad chains are crafted to the highest quality. However, like all jewellery, necklace chains must be treated with care to maintain their integrity.

What should I consider when choosing pendants to wear with fine chains?

We never recommend hanging large or heavy pendants off our fine chains as this can cause the chain to break under the unexpected weight.

Is it safe to sleep while wearing my chains?

We do not recommend sleeping in your chains as chains can get caught or stuck as you sleep and become damaged.

When is the best time to put on my chains to avoid issues with cosmetics?

Put on your chains after applying body lotions and cosmetics to prevent your cosmetics congesting the clasp mechanism and affecting its effectiveness.

Why should I keep my chains away from small children and pets?

Keep small children and pets away from your chains. Children or pets pulling or tugging on your chains can cause them to break.

What is the proper way to remove my chain to prevent damage?

Always remove your chain by unclasping it. Removing your chain over your head can cause the links to become damaged and elongated.

Choosing a Chain Length

What length necklace chain should I choose?

We offer all our chains in 16" and 18" lengths. 20", 22" and 30" length chains are also available in our larger designs.

We find chains in the 18" length are the most popular option. We recommend 16" length chains for children or clients with small children who want to keep their chain out of the reach of little hands.
