My cousin gave me this book before I commenced my Sicilian adventure. He told me it was long out of print, but by far the best guide!
Tasca Vineyards
Tasca d'Almerita is a wine producer with vineyards distributed around Sicily. The company's history dates back to 1830, although it wasn't until the 1950s that proprietor Count Guiseppe Tasca, a great friend of mine, began to focus on quality, rather than bulk production. Today, its wines are exported to four continents.

Venus Landolina
Found in the Acradina quarter of Syracuse in 1804, the Venus Landolina is named for the archeologist, Saverio Landolina (1743-1814), who discovered the statue. Made from Greek marble in the 2nd century AD.
Mount Etna
Mount Etna has become an almost obligatory tourist stop among the various historical and cultural attractions in Sicily. Mount Etna is one of the highest volcanoes in Europe and one of the most active in the world. The volcano shaped the Sicilian history and landscape, and still affects the island today.
Greek Theatre, Taormina
The Greek Theatre of Taormina is the second largest theatre of Sicily, after the one in Syracuse, it is also the world's best known and most admired.
Cefalù Cathedral
Cefalù Cathedral, built by the Normans in the 12th century, is famous for having the oldest and best-preserved Byzantine mosaics in Sicily.
La Martorana
The Church of St. Mary of the Admiral, also called Martorana, is the seat of the Parish of San Nicolò dei Greci, overlooking the Piazza Bellini.
Festival of St Rosalia in Palermo
The Feast of Saint Rosalia is a regional public holiday in Palermo, on July 15th each year. The day honours the patron saint of the city, who is credited with saving the city from plague in 1624.
