What is the connection between the opera and jewellery?

Traditionally, attending an opera allowed you to wear classic jewels to add a touch of sophistication to your ensemble. At Cassandra Goad, we recommend wearing our elegant and timeless jewels that elevate your outfit for an evening performance. The earliest surviving opera was performed in 17th century with Jacopo Peri’s Euridice, where the long-established custom was to dress up in your best clothes and jewellery for the special occasion.

Do opera houses have different dress codes?

During the summer months, opera is more widely attended with a particular focus on more understated dress codes and environments. Most opera performances have time for a picnic before or are even performed outside. For a less formal opera performance, we would recommend the beautiful jewels below.
