How to style your jewels this Christmas

Stand out from the crowd this Christmas with Cassandra’s styling tips for the festive season. Break away from your typical staples and find your festive flair with Cassandra's styling tips for the Christmas period.

Cocktail Rings

The perfect choice for an evening event, cocktail rings are typically extravagant in their design and size. Due to the gentle wear they receive Cassandra often creates cocktail rings with more unusual and delicate gemstones. Spark a conversation with our Luiza cocktail ring which features tanzanite, aquamarine, emerald and diamond. For Cassandra, cocktail rings are also an opportunity to create more opulent and extravagant designs. Her Rose ring is a beautifully dramatic ring which is perfect for a party setting but might feel too extravagant for daily wear.

Opals

Opal is a fragile gemstone which requires gentle handling and prefers infrequent wear. This makes opal jewellery the perfect occasion jewellery. Cassandra has created several striking drop earrings from large cuts of opal with deep blue and green marbling that looks perfect with evening attire.

Bold Silhouettes

Cassandra often opts for a simpler outfit and pairs it with striking jewellery with intriguing silhouettes. A recent favourite of hers is pairing a tailored navy velvet suit with her Pâtisserie necklace and earrings. The unique silhouettes of the Pâtisserie design perfectly elevates her outfit and gives an interesting twist.

Contrasting Colours

Do not be afraid to contrast colours for a standout Christmas outfit. While many people are anxious to contrast colours, Cassandra follows two key rules to ensure her colour pallet stays fun and fresh and not overwhelming. Her first rule is to keep your colours in blocks. Pick two colours and keep the two colours separate in the outfit and then tie them together with accessories. For example, pair orange satin trousers with a pink silk shirt and pink shoes with the Qin and Han earrings with pink tourmaline and fire opal. Her second rule is to use colour theory. Pick colours which are opposite on the colour wheel as these will complement each other.

If you are looking for some more colour inspiration, Cassandra also recommends perusing A Dictionary of Complimentary Colours by Sanzo Wada, who laid the foundations for contemporary colour research and suggests beautiful colour pairings.
